Autonomous driving is going to be reality in the near future. The all-electric touring sedan XchangE shows up, how the interior design is increasingly important. When the autopilot took over on highways, the interior could be used as relaxing zone, working area or for business meetings. Comfortable seats, likewise in business class flights and a drive-by-wire steering system that enables to stow away the steering wheel allow a very relaxing journey. For meeting, the seats can easily be turned and newest infotainment, service- and security-function leave nothing to be desired.
For this 15. project for Rinspeed, ESORO was responsible for the design and manufacturing of the all-purpose, turnable and relaxing seats and further enhance their competence in designing seats. In addition, ESORO developed the very new steering wheel that easily could be moved towards the middle of the dashboard to gain more space for the passengers. Like every year, ESORO implemented and adopted several different technologies and innovations of the project partners and was responsible for the final assembly of the interior and exterior of the XchangE.
