Max and Moritz have been presented and put into operation in St. Moritz in January 2016. ESORO developed and manufactured the two vehicles for See-Infra AG and was responsible for the entire engineering, calculations and realization of the project – in a record-breaking short time.
The goal of the project was to enable save and practical work on the frozen lakes. Do to the swim capabilities of the vehicles, man and machine are save and can concentrate on the work. The vehicles are also equipped with a mechanism to pull themselves out of the ice if they break through. This simplifies the handling of such events.
Basis of the work are two snowcats of Kässborer, Type PB 100 SCR. After FEM calculation, CAD design and semi-scale tests, the chassis of the vehicles have been adopted – incl. a prolongation of 800mm and the lifting of the cabin of 300 mm – and the integral lifting bodies have been developed and manufactured.
